The Mini K47 captures the tone of a vintage microphone, with modern performance specifications. "K47" refers to the capsule design. Our K47 capsule is modeled after the one in the most famous microphone of all time. It provides a full, balanced tone without any harshness or hype in the upper frequencies. It will record less sibilance and fewer mouth sounds on your next vocal track. It will add weight, body, and tone to high strings and electric guitars. It will reduce the jangle in strummed acoustic tracks. We created a clean, transparent circuit design. It lets the sound of the capsule pass through without alteration. Self-noise and distortion performance are on par with microphones costing significantly more. The circuit incorporates the best tricks we’ve learned from modifying and upgrading other companies’ products. Nerdy details for people who like to look inside their gear before they plug it in (skip this part if you find the insides of a microphone to be mysterious or intimidating; that's our playground, and we'd be happy to tell you more if you're interested, but you can instead just plug the thing in and get back to recording)... we picked a NOS, high voltage JFET for this circuit. Each one is individually selected for gain and noise, and "biased" to minimize distortion and maximize SPL. The circuit uses 1% tolerance audio grade resistors, matched NOS European made film capacitors, and no cheap shortcuts. The capsule is direct coupled, because the best input coupling capacitor in the world doesn't sound as good as not having one at all. All Roswell mics are assembled in California, and thoroughly "burned in" and tested. Finished mics go through a 7-step QC process including acoustic sweep and auditioning by real human ears -- because the customer should NOT be the first person to hear a microphone.
